Fewer people are locking their keys in the car with keyless remotes, but this doesn’t mean you won’t need an automotive locksmith at one point or another in your driving career. There are things that can go wrong whether you have an older car with a keyed entry or a newer car with keyless entry. Thankfully, Momo Locksmith works on vehicles, too, and we are called for these five reasons the most.
Lost Keys
It can and probably has happened to all of us: You’ve lost your car keys. You cannot find them anywhere no matter how hard you search. You’ve torn your home apart, your office apart, and even gone through all of your clothing pockets and purses. And, it’s important to know that having a new set of keys made by a locksmith is less expensive than getting a new set of keys from the dealer.
Locked Keys
People still lock their keys in their cars, especially if they set the keys in the trunk while they load groceries into it and then shut the trunk without thinking. We can get you into your car. No worries. It’s easy to lock your keys in your car and dangerous if you have toddlers or pets in the vehicle with the windows up. Call us right away to get your automobile unlocked.
Broken Keys
Keys can break just like anything else can and many do in the door locks or ignition. This is frustrating to say the least. We have the tools to remove the broken key part from the lock and rekey your car so you have a new set of keys ready to use without breaking. Don’t try to get the key part out of your door lock or ignition yourself. You can ruin the lock or ignition.
Extra Keys
Some dealerships only give you one key for your vehicle purchase. You may have bought a used car from a private seller and he or she only had one set of keys to the automobile. It’s always wise to have at least two sets of keys to your car, truck, or SUV so you have the spare set in case you need it. Again, having us make the extra set of keys is cheaper than getting the extra set made at the dealer.
Spare Keys
Didn’t we just talk about this above? Kind of. If you’ve had an extra set of keys made for another driver, it’s best to have a spare set made, as well. In other words, both drivers have a set of keys to the car and there’s a spare set in the event one driver locks their keys in the car and the other driver cannot come to the rescue. It’s a good idea to have a spare set of house keys in a safe space, too.
